Hello Everybody, I'm going to show you HOW TO FIX LAG Slow freeze in Artificial Academy 2 (AA2) on windows 10, I was asked a lot on how to fix lag on one of my video and a lot of people helped.
Well, nope but i dont really think its a bad installation, a friend lended me a copy his avp classic 2000 to check if it would work on my windows 7 (because gold supposedely wont work on 7) and i got the same problem, strange thing is with me the problem is somehow less annoying, because with his game the lag wouldnt stop and with my game at least it seems it dissapears (but comes back again), weird:/Do i lose my configuration if i reinstall the game? I will try it anyway but i dont want to rebind all the keys again. Originally posted by:Hey, i have a question, how do you install this?
Over the steam game in the same folder? And also would it cause any problems with my steam account? Also i downloaded the automated installer, not the source code, and do i have to run the game first or install the patch first before running the game?If your doing this for AvP Classic, then don't bother. That patch is mainly for AvP GE issues. If it's only happening with one isolated case within the game, it may be an installation corruption. It's the installer you need though, and you would be installing it to the AvP Gold directory, not AvP Classic.
Well, its curious because gold worked great (when i had xp) i tried my friend's copy of classic and did had the same problem (didnt tried installing gold on w7 because of what i said, and besides its 64 bits and not 32 like xp), tried my game and still have the lag problem but for some reason a bit less severe, should i try the installer then with this game if it still have the problem? Because i really dont want to go back to xp, i got used to w7 and i like the os, i will check the game anyway to see if its fixed but i doubt it. No hehe, sorry i confused you, i had gold on xp and worked great, when i upgraded to 7 i saw somewhere online that it wouldnt work and that classic was made to work with 7 so i didnt bother trying to install gold, but well, i have that lag issue, as i told you i tried it and yep, the lag is still there, i reinstalled the game (deleted local content and downloaded it again) but it still get the lag in the alien campaign when there is a dead body, its weird that it works for you. But i dont know, maybe is it my gpu?
Or maybe something related to the fact that windows 7 runs the game with lower priority than normal (in the task manager)? Hi, about the driver update, i cant do that, always when i do it i get a bsod when i restart, and ive downloaded them using update from windows, from the drivers i download from the official site and with one of those driver pack dvd's, i even get one when i install windows (always blaming nvlddmkm.sys), in fact i tried to install again today the drivers and this time i got a black screen and the monitor light blinking (as if the cpu wasnt on).
The driver i use is a really old one i downloaded from i dont remember what site, but i found it on some forum while trying to find a fix to that install bsod problem. The name of the installer 169.28forcewarewinvista64bitenglishbeta (i kept it in case i reinstall windows).About the dx9, i doubt it will work but let me check out.BTW my gpu is an nvidia 7950gx2, in case it helps, and i have 3 gb of ram.Edit: I got a message telling me i have the latest version of direct x, do i uninstall it from the windows uninstall option? Even though this is an old thread, I had the same problem and the way I solved it wasn't mentioned in any thread here or elsewhere that I could find.
Like the OP, I had lag issues when running AvP2 on Windows 7 64bit with an NVIDIA video card. I managed to solve them by entering the NVIDIA Control Panel - 3D Settings - Manage 3D settings - Global Settings - Vertical Sync. It was set to 'Off' in my case. Setting it to 'Adaptive' solved the problem.I don't know if this will work for everybody, but it can't hurt to try.
