On this Cambodian tour of Phnom Penh, I’ll be taking you along to Phnom Penh’s Central Market (Psar Thmei), and a landmark in the center of the city. The market itself is not too impressive in my opinion unless you’re looking for jewelry or overpriced clothes, but the street food court and market on the outside is where you want to be.There’s an abundance of Cambodian Khmer food and Vietnamese food available at the food court of Central Market, and there’s so much to choose from that it can be challenging to decide where to eat.
The colorful selection of herbs and vegetables lead me to the bun rieu noodle stall, a Vietnamese crab noodle dish. We first enjoyed a delicious bowl of bun rieu with all the herbs and chilies we wanted. Bun rieu - 7,000 KHR ($1.70)On the edge of the market you’ll find some huge grilled squid, and it’s incredibly tempting.
I thought it was a little expensive (possibly overcharged), but nevertheless, it was amazingly delicious. Giant grilled squid - $8 USDNext up you’ll see lots of fruit shake vendors at Central Market in Phnom Penh, I had a durian avocado, and it was amazingly delicious. Durian avocado shake - 6,000 KHR ($1.46)Cambodian oysters as they are known, but really some type of cockle are a common Cambodian street food in Phnom Penh. They are sun dried and they are actually quite tasty.
Clams - 4,000 KHR ($0.97)Yee-ay Sok Sor - sach ko ang jakak (grilled lemongrass skewers), this place was amazing for their Cambodian grilled lemongrass marinated meat skewers in baguettes. Total price - 36,500 KHR ($8.87)Dried buffalo (sach krobei) - We had a little miscommunication and ended up ordering quite a bit of dried buffalo.
The good news is that it was incredible delicious, and so we were happy to have that much! Price - 55,000 KHR ($13.37) for ½ kg.Our final stop on this Cambodian street food tour of Phnom Penh, we walked around towards the Old Market, and bumped into a grilling meat stall that was too good to pass up. It wasn’t planned, but today turned into a Cambodian grilled meat marathon. Total meat price - 27,000 KHR ($6.56), Soursop fruit shake - 4,000 KHR ($0.97).Cambodian has amazing, and Phnom Penh is a truly exciting city to eat in! The area around Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ), in the Charoen Krung area of Bangkok, is a great place to find Halal Thai street food (food cooked permissible with Muslim / Islamic traditions). In this video I’m taking you on a Halal Thai street food in Bangkok - we’re going to eat some amazing roti roti breakfast, and some of my personal favorite curry - gaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่).Roti Mataba Khun Mai (โรตีมะตะบะ คุณใหม่) - This is the first place we stopped for breakfast to eat Thai Muslim style roti.
Ying and I split a sweet roti, and a couple of mataba gai (มะตะบะไก่), chicken stuffed roti. Both were excellent, and made hot and fresh right in front of us.Total price - 175 THB ($5.35)Khao mok (ข้าวหมก) is Thai biryani, and this was actually more of a Burmese style. It rolled down the alley right where we were eating the mataba, and we had to try it. As we were ordering though, the family that lives in the house there in the gate, had watched our videos and invited us into their house to eat - this was completely random and unplanned. The family was extremely nice, and we ate the biryani in their home, and also tried a few of their extra dishes.Price - 90 THB ($2.75) per plateGaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่) - This is probably my favorite dish of this entire Halal Bangkok Thai street food tour. Gaeng gari (แกงกะหรี่) of this style is typically a Muslim version of this amazing curry.
It’s packed with spice, and what I love most about it are the curry leaves that give the curry its unique and strong flavor.Total price - 110 THB ($3.36)Gaeng Hindu (แกงฮินดู) - There’s a curry street food stall as you enter Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ) that you don’t want to miss. They have a curry that they called “Gaeng Hindu (แกงฮินดู)” or an Indian style curry. It looked like Thai massaman curry, but it didn’t taste at all like massaman curry. This curry was amazing, packed full of spicy, and not sweet at all like massaman. It’s a curry you don’t want to miss. She wouldn’t allow us to pay.
Thank you for the food!Khanom soyi (ขนมโซยี) - This is the original version of this Thai Muslim dessert pudding. It was interesting, not my favorite.Price - 20 THB ($0.61)Kuay teow bok (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวบก) - This is a Thai street food dish you won’t find often, it included wide rice noodles and herbs, with shrimp, chicken, and peanuts, with a sweet chili sauce. The sauce was too sweet for me, but I liked the freshness of the dish.Price - 40 THB ($1.22)Khanom buang (ขนมเบื้อง) - Finally to end this Thai street food Halal tour, we ate khanom buang (ขนมเบื้อง). Most of the ingredients are vegetables and it’s really a refreshing and light mixture that all goes into it. It was a great way to end this food tour, and I was stuffed at the end.Price - 40 THB ($1.22)You’ll find Halal Thai street food around the Haroon Mosque (มัสยิดฮารูณ), especially on Friday from about 10 am - 2 pm.Thank you for watching this video! Day 2 in Yunnan, China was one of the greatest days of Chinese food I’ve ever had. We started by visiting Weishan, Yunnan, China, an ancient village known for delicious noodles.
Then we continued on to an ancient and well preserved Muslim village, and finally had an ethnic dinner back in Dali new town.Special thanks to Zouba Tours (for arranging everything in this video. I paid for this tour (it’s not sponsored), but I think they did a great job, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the tour. The first bowl of noodles was spectacular, a seperate bowl of noodles and a dipping soup of chili oil and pork. It was the perfect way to start a cold day in Yunnan, China.Price - 11 RMB ($1.67) per bowlNext we tried a Chinese street food snack that’s popular in Yunnan. A rice sheet is first grilled, then on went some pickles, peanuts, and a bunch of spices, and finally a Chinese donut was filled on the inside.Price - 1 RMB ($0.15)Entire bowl one noodle - Yes, the entire bowl of noodle was actually just one single noodle. It was one of the most fascinating to watch bowls ever. There’s a pan of coiled dough, which she expertly adds and stretches out as she boils it. You noodle gets cooked then topped with some vegetables and pork.
It’s amazing to watch being made, and tastes delicious too.Price - 8 RMB ($1.21)Donglianhua (东莲花) Village - This is a well preserved ancient Muslim village, and Luxi brought us to a friend who is an outstanding cook with a gorgeous Chinese courtyard. She cooked one of the most amazing Halal beef salads I’ve ever had, plus Chinese Muslim noodles. Watching her cook everything from scratch and then eating in the courtyard environment was truly spectacular.Xi Lian Shan (喜莲膳)Total price - 120 RMB ($18.18)Jingpo Yan Han Ren Jia (景颇岩罕人家) - Finally for dinner we drove back to Dali new town and ate dinner at a Jingpo restaurant, which is food from the border near Myanmar.
The food was ate was not Chinese food like you would normally think, but more similar to Thai / Burmese or with Southeast Asian spices and flavors. It was an amazing meal to finish a fantastic Chinese street food tour day.Total price - 200 RMB ($30.30).
Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is known for serving the spiciest bowl of ramen you can eat in Tokyo, Japan, and not only is it insanely spicy, you’ll also find that it’s one of the most flavorful bowls of ramen you’ll ever eat as well. They have two shops, the one of the corner serves only Tsukemen, a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles are dry and you dip them in the sauce. For the traditional bowl of ramen, you walk around the corner to the side and that’s the shop you’re looking for.Like most ramen restaurants in Tokyo, you enter to a vending machine and choose your bowl of ramen, pay and get a ticket. There are two different spice levels to choose from, chili 1-5 and Sichuan pepper 1-5, 5 being the strongest which is called Devil Level!I decided to go Devil Level all the way, both chili and Sichuan pepper. Price - 1500 JPY ($13.60) for my bowl. From the top bowl, you pay an extra 200 Yen due to adding so much more spices.First of all, the Japanese food miso ramen was outstanding, the flavor of the broth was incredibly delicious. On my first bite, what hit me hard was the Sichuan pepper, that made my mouth start tingling and made it hard for me to control my mouth or even talk! The Devil Level chili was not too bad for me, but it was the huge amount of Sichuan chili that almost did me in.You don’t have to order Devil Level, you can order whatever level you like, but the ramen at Tokyo’s Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is sure to blow you away with insane flavor!Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo2 Chome-10-10 Kajicho, Chiyoda, Tokyo 101-0044, JapanPrice - 1500 JPY ($13.60).
The number one question I get asked is how I can afford to travel, while making money, and blogging. I'm going to answer how I make money, and also how I can afford to travel and eat in this video. Also, I'll share how I think you can do it too! There are many many ways to make money while traveling, and I have friends that are working on cruise ships, blogging, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, and even skydiving, while earning money to be able to maintain a lifestyle traveling. But instead of sharing all the ways on how to make money traveling, I'll first share the ways I make money.First I want to say that all of these ways that I make money while traveling are all the result of initially starting a blog back in 2009 and committing to writing quality and useful information on it on a regular basis. If you want to make money while traveling, I'd highly recommend you start a blog on whatever you're passionate about and begin blogging high quality useful information to show your expertise, and also connecting with others.
(If you're just starting a travel blog, Travel Blog Success is an excellent course that I recommend: affiliate)1. Affiliate recommendations - This basically means earning a small commission as a referral.
There are many companies (places like Amazon and Agoda.com for hotels) that offer a commission if you refer someone to a purchase. As an example, on my website I give away a lot of free useful tips about visiting Bangkok (And I also recommend a few hotels which, some of which I've previously stayed at, and others which I've just visit and highly recommend. So if you were to click one of the links and book that hotel, I would get a smallcommission as a referral.
I only recommend things that I use myself or trust.2. My premium travel and food guides - The biggest way I make money while traveling is by selling my premium travel and food guides (Right now I have the Bangkok 101 things to do guide, Eating Thai Food Guide, Vegetarian Thai Food Guide, and the Delhi travel guide, and I'm working on more. I prefer to sell my own guides than doing advertising on my website, because I can trust in the quality of my own guides.3. Freelance writing - As a result of first starting my travel blog back in 2009, I've had the opportunity to do numerous freelance writing projects, some big and some small. I've written for a few inflight magazines, as well as CNN Travel, and various other newspapers, magazines, and websites. I used to dislike writing, but the more I started blogging about thing I really enjoyed (like food) the more I enjoyed it.
![Perbedaan Utbk Dan Utbc Perbedaan Utbk Dan Utbc](/uploads/1/2/5/4/125407804/811176223.jpg)
And after committing to it and blogging, I've been able to connect with so many others and had chances to write for many places. A blog is a great way for you to have a public profile of your expertise.4. Video, YouTube - Finally, the fourth way of how I make money while traveling and blogging is through videos.
I made the decision to start making videos and I have committed to it. Ads on some of my videos is another chunk of my monthly income.Along with how to make money while traveling and blogging, it's also important to say how I can afford to travel?
Most of the money my wife and I make now goes back into our traveling and eating. However, it's all about your priorities.
We don't own a car and pay for gas, and instead we choose to buy plane tickets and eat street food. You have to set your own goals and priorities and live intentionally to pursue them.

The machboos was the best Emirati food served for lunch, it was amazing!Wild Flight, Falconry show and dinner - Finally for dinner, we attended an event by Wild Flight that included a Dubai falconry show and dinner. One of the main reasons I wanted to travel to the island of Lombok in Indonesia is to eat the original ayam taliwang, a style of spicy grilled chicken that truly is the best grilled chicken I’ve ever tasted anywhere in the world. In this Mataram, Lombok food tour, we eat at some of the best and most legendary street food stalls in Mataram, Lombok!RM. It was great to eat and hang out!Total price - about 200,000 IDR ($14.77)Thank you to everything I met in this video for all your help, and thank you for watching! Karena saking banyak (hasil dikasih dan penjualan cendera mata) dan orang-orang ingin menjual emas untuk membeli kebutuhn barang lain, akhirnya harga/nilai emas di kota itu mengalami penurunan.
Namun, Raja Mansa Musa memanglah baik hati.
During my trip to Jakarta, I mostly remained in the city. But Ken and Gratiana from invited my wife Ying and I to go with them and their family on an Indonesian food trip to Bogor and the surrounding region (about an hour from Jakarta). Our first stop when we drove out of Jakarta and to Bogor was a famous place to eat Bogor style laksa at a restaurant called Laksa Bogor Pak Inin. It was exactly my kind of a restaurant, open air and local, with a wonderful friendly environment. The laksa was unlike any other laksa I’ve ever had, and it was fantastic. Laksa Bogor - 10,000 IDR ($0.72)Next, we stopped at a place called Toge Goreng Pak Abung, which is another legendary Indonesian food stop in Bogor, Indonesia, and they are famous for serving a bean sprout snack.
It was definitely a very interesting dish, including a mixture of bean sprouts and fermented soy beans. Toge Goreng - 7,000 IDR ($0.51)Next we drove into the beautiful Indonesian countryside and to the house. After having some Indonesian snacks and refreshing coconut, we then took a hike to go look for honey. The beekeeper was sick on the day we went, so we we’re able to get any honey, but it was still a beautiful hike. The highlight of this Indonesian food trip for me was the Sundanese style Nasi Liwet Botram family feast that we had. All the food was laid out on banana leaves, and we all sat and ate some of the most beautiful and flavorful Indonesian food.

It was an incredible culinary experience. We drove back to Bogor and stopped at Warung Nasi Ampera to eat a quick dinner, and because I wanted to try some ikan pepes. The food was alright, but nothing compared to the lunch feast we had eaten! Total price - 103,000 IDR ($7.46) for 3 plates of foodFinally, back in Jakarta, we stopped near Manga Besar to have some desserts and to finish of this incredible day of Indonesian food. Sekoteng - 12,000 IDR ($0.87), Wedang Ronde - 12,000 IDR ($0.87)It was an incredible Indonesian food trip to the outskirts of Bogor, and a nice opportunity to get out of Jakarta for the day.A big thank you to Ken, Gratiana, and her family for inviting us to their house country house and for the amazing food. Makassar, located in southern Sulawesi, is known throughout Indonesia for its food, and one of the many famous dishes to try is sop konro, which is beef ribs in a soup.
To try this dish in Jakarta, I went to Sop Konro Karebosi, a famous restaurant located in an area of Jakarta known as Kelapa Gading. The restaurant was open air but indoors, and all the ribs and the fish were grilling at the front of the restaurant.
Along with the ribs soup, they also had grilled ribs, known at konro bakar, and they had grilled milkfish as well, known as ikan bandeng bakar.Konro bakar (grilled beef ribs) - I had to begin with the konro bakar. The ribs were first boiled I think, and then grilled to give them that wonderful smoky flavor, yet still very tender because they were precooked. After the ribs were finished cooking, they were covered in a peanut sauce. The meat was so unbelievably tender that it literally just slipped off the bone. The ribs were amazing, a little fatty, but delicious.Sop konro (beef ribs soup) - This is the most famous dish at Sop Konro Karebosi, beef ribs that are cooked in a soup and served with lots of crispy shallots on top. Again, the ribs were equally as tender as the grilled ribs, but without the smoky flavor, but just more of that tender rib meat flavor. Both were outstanding.Ikan bandeng bakar (grilled milkfish) - I also decided to try some grilled fish as well, which was a little dry, but still pretty good.
I didn’t know at the time, but I later researched and found out that it was grilled milkfish. Finally, to make your meal at Sop Konro Karebosi complete, they had a big communal platter of burasa (rice dumpling) and ketupat (rice cake) on the table to eat. I also highly enjoyed the sambal chili sauce that was on our table. After finishing that incredible Makassar Indonesian food meal, we walked over to Kedai Kopi & Bakpao Kwang Koan, an old style coffee shop for a good cup of coffee.
